The closest beaches are Ilha do Faro, Ilha do Farol, Ilha Deserta and Ilha Barreta.

Ilha do Faro
This beach is best reached by heading towards the airport and then, at the roundabout just before entering the airport gates, veer off to the right and follow the road right to the end. From the hotel, this takes about 20 minutes by car. However, there are regular buses that go to the Ilha do Faro at about half hour intervals. In August and September you can catch a ferry from the small port near the marina to this island.

Ilha do Farol, Ilha Deserta and Ilha Barreta
Reknowned for their beautiful white sand and clear, warm waters, these tranquil spots can only be reached by boat. A walk along Rua Infante Dom Henrique alongside the Marina takes you to the Porta do Sol (see maps and directions) where you can catch a ferry to any of the three islands. From May to the end of September, these ferries form part of the excitement of going to the beach from Faro. The ferry’s leisurely pace combined with the other jovial beachgoers bearing towels, sun umbrella and picnic lunches in anticipation of a carefree day generates an hard-to-forget holiday atmosphere.
